National Fire Situation Report

Jun 30, 2020 4:33pm, CT
Level 2
Active agencies are unable to independently accomplish incident management objectives without some support. Resource capability remains stable enough nationally to sustain incident operations and meet objectives in active agencies. There is a low probability that drawing down resources from non-active agencies may pose a risk should existing conditions change.
  • Wildland fire activity is increasing in one or more agencies.
  • Resources within most agencies are adequate to manage their current situation, with light to moderate demand and mobilization of resources occurring through CIFFC.
  • Potential for emerging significant wildland fires is normal to below normal for the time of year.
Canadian Wildland Fire Information System
AgencyOperational Summary
BCLow fire activity with no suppression challenges. Hazard is increasing in the NE region of the province, likely bringing increased activity. Moving forward with our WFX FIT Testing with a target for completion for July 6.
ONScattered thunder storms in the west, indices continue to climb provincially.
NB
NSNo active fires. Generally Low to Moderate FWI across the province, after receiving some light precipitation spread over the last few days. Forecast for the week has more showers with potential for more rain around Thursday, but drying out and warming up after that. There has been chance of thunderstorms across much of the province for the past couple days and into the next couple, so there's a chance of some lightning starts.
For current year from January 1.

Mobilization of resources nationally is required to sustain incident management operations in the active Geographic Areas (GA's). National priorities established as a necessary measure to address the heavy and persistent demand for shared resources among active GA's.
  • Significant wildland fire activity is occurring in multiple geographic areas, with Incident Management Teams (IMTs) actively engaged.
  • Mobilization of resources through the National Interagency Coordination Center is moderate to heavy.
  • Potential for emerging significant wildland fires is normal for the time of year.
